About the Author Jorge Galan was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, in 1973. He is an Arts and Letters graduate of the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA). He is a poet and writer and has received several literary awards, both national and internationally, including the Premio Nacional de Novela Corta (National Prize for Short Stories) and the Gran Maestre de Poesia Nacional de El Salvador, which he was awarded after receiving three National Poetry Prizes in 1996, 1998 and 1999.
