About the Author Dick Bruna (1927 - 2017) is een Nederlandse kunstenaar en de geestelijke vader van nijntje. Hij heeft in totaal meer dan 120 verschillende kinderboeken gemaakt. Het werk van Dick Bruna kenmerkt zich door eenvoud, zwarte contouren en felle, levendige kleuren. Die eenvoud geeft ieder kind ruimte om zijn eigen fantasie in te vullen. De boeken van Dick Bruna worden door kinderen over de hele wereld gelezen en zijn in meer dan 50 talen verschenen.
