About the Author Charlotte Bolland is Senior Curator, Research and 16th Century Collections at the National Portrait Gallery, London. She has contributed to The Encounter: Drawings from Leonardo to Rembrandt (2017), The Real Tudors: Kings and Queens Rediscovered (2014) and Elizabeth I and Her People (2013). Her most recent publication on the Tudors was Tudor and Jacobean Portraits (2019).
