Only the artists of Persia’s Safavid Dynasty (1501–1722) could have produced the bookbinding masterwork that inspired this cover design. Said to have been commissioned by one of the art-minded Safavid princes of Shiraz, the design seen on Paper blanks Shiraz 2020 18-Month Teacher's Planner was initially crafted from embossed, gilded and hand painted black goatskin, and overlaid with delicate gold filigree.
