Each blazing fire ignites with a first spark. For Milky Chance, this spark ignited when they released her legendary debutsong "Stolen Dance". Milky Chance climbed to the coveted top of the charts in several countries and became the "most blogged act" at Hype Machine before publishing the successful follow-up singles "Down By The River" and "Flashed Junk Mind" of their self-produced album Sadnecessary. The duo had planned to travel through Europe after graduation with friends on a bus. With the release of "Stolen Dance" and her debut album Sadnecessary, this dream became a reality for the two of the lid: Milky Chance travelled around 350 days with her music through the United States, Europe, South Africa and Australia. "It was grandios. Every day was an adventure. But anyone who goes on such an adventure trip after school then goes back home," says Clemens. A home - the feeling of having a safe foundation in one place - is important to us all - it is a human basic need. For Milky Chance, this basic need is also associated with a variety of emotions. "As an artist, it stimulates your creativity when you can simply get into a bus and drive to a new, unknown place. But you have to take roots somewhere", Clemen finds. However, much more important is something different: In the years between the release of Sadnecessary and Milky Chance's new album, a new person has also entered in Clemens' lives - his daughter. "You want to keep everything together. You want to be a musician, but also a good father, he says. A special track of the album, the title track, is about "the changed look of life" since the birth of his daughter. Ultimately, it is exactly these things that have given buoyancy to the creation of this new collection of songs. The first single to reflect this time is the track "Cocoon", where it is "about being in a particular situation, trying to cope with it and find out what and why you have done it"
