About the Author
David Leffman was born and raised in the UK, spent twenty years in Australia, then relocated back to Britain in 2009. Since 1992 he has authored and co-authored guides to Australia, China, Indonesia, Iceland and Hong Kong for Rough Guides, Dorling Kindersley and others, ghost written a Chinese cookbook and contributed articles for various publications on subjects ranging from crime to martial arts and history. If he had spare time he'd go scuba diving.
James Proctor has been with Rough Guides since 1995 and is the company's original Nanook of the North. Co-author of the Rough Guides to Iceland, Sweden and Finland, James has also written the only English-language guides to the Faroe Islands and Lapland. One of his more obscure talents is speaking several Nordic languages - something which never fails to impress and bemuse most Icelanders (and most other people) he meets. Having lived and worked in the Nordic countries in the mid-1990s as the BBC's Scandinavia correspondent, James willingly travels north at any opportunity - clearly a Viking in a past life.
