The ‘My First Heroes’ books are a great way to engage little ones in reading, by making learning about inspirational people interactive and fun. The slides to push and wheels to turn provided lots of interest and our testers liked that the stories highlighted diverse and interesting lives. The stories and facts encouraged lots of discussion and questions, which is a great way for children to build their knowledge and communication skills. About the Author
Jayri Gómez, is an artist born and in the Dominican Republic. With a passion for the arts at an early age, she took several advertising courses at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and holds a bachelor's degree in Graphic Arts from ITESA.
It was not until 2015, after completing a course in Altos de Chavón, that she discovered her true passion: illustration. She has since worked for a number of clients between the Dominican Republic and the United States, and finds constant inspiration in the illustrations of children's books and stories about fantasy and magic. My First Heroes is her first series with Campbell Books.
